What’s Up Salem!

I’ve been sitting in gratitude this week. Last week’s award show was amazing.

I love seeing great people come together and get connected.

Thank all of you for being here for this journey. It means a lot. We know your email boxes are flooded and we try to deliver a quality product every week because we want you to know whats going on and make it easier for you to get involved with the things that interest you most.

I received A LOT of positive feedback about our award show last week, and I want you to know it means a lot.

Now, lets see what is happening Salem…

Guess what Salem.

Whenever someone asks me why I recommend SurfacesNW, I let them know it’s because of who Nate Freaking Knapp is.

Nate is the owner and a freaking legend, gosh darn it.

He not only guarantees quality, he often turns down work because he always prioritizes what is right for the customer over a business decision. Don’t believe me? TRY IT!

His team does free consultations and is always happy to ensure you know what options are available, and if his team is the right option for you.

When Nate isn’t running SNW, he’s busy running the Sprague Junior Olys football league. He's freaking investing in our city's future.

If you call, ask for Nate Freaking Knapp. Let them know Espi from WHS sent you and they’ll be like, “That’s freaking sweet.”

Hope you like them as much as I do.

‘Good Valley Homes’: Siletz Tribe Celebrates New Affordable Housing Project in Salem

The Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians celebrated the opening of Kloshe Illahee Haws, a 39-unit affordable housing development in southeast Salem, marking a major milestone in tribal-led housing. Built on 8.8 acres of trust land, the project features a mix of two-, three-, and four-bedroom homes, half reserved for residents earning below 80% of the area’s median income. Funded through federal Indian Housing Block Grants and tribal resources, the development aims to create long-term stability and cultural connection for Siletz citizens and the wider community.

The four-year project, whose name means “Good Valley Homes,” was designed to bring Siletz citizens closer together while addressing the city’s growing need for affordable housing. Residents like Vera Vasquez shared how the move represents more than just a roof overhead — It’s a chance to reconnect, heal, and thrive alongside other tribal members. (Oregon Public Broadcast)
